Jesus spoke about being deceived by prayer:
Matthew 6:5-8
Today we have Moslems who pray repetitiously seven days a week, Catholics who pray repetitiously the rosary.
Then we have protestants work the greatest deception of them all, formulated a prayer that they claim saves, forgives sins, called the sinners prayer. They deny the actual meaning of grace, which is the works of God, authorized, as UNMERITORIOUS (credited to God, not man) steps, one walks in through faith (persuasion of God), working in men to be save. Which are plain to see written in scripture, to believe, confess, repent and baptism (water immersion). Baptism is written in the bible the moment is forgiven of sins, saves, is justified from sin. To speak to people who believe ’sinner’s prayer” is the moment one is saved, is like speaking to a sound bite, slogan simplistic frame of mind. When you say to them you need to be baptized (water immersed) in Christ, to be saved, forgiven of sins, to be justified from sins. They reply, “nothing but Jesus”, or say “if you add anything to Jesus, your lost, evil”. In their sound bites, slogans, they stop thinking, denying Jesus’ and his Apostles many other words.
WHY? Two great masses of people, first on the far right, the Catholics are warped by man made works of all sorts, to many to list, and then on the far left, protestants put their trust in a man made work, called the sinners prayer. The protestants to differentiate themselves from Catholics, rebuke the Catholics for having many man made works, but protestants in denial, hold on to one man made work, sinners prayer. Both groups believe the persuasion of man over God’s persuasion in the bible, they put their trust in the numbers of people.
