Believes and is baptized will be saved

To understand the new testament, you must have a foundation of knowing there are two covenants, dispensations of time, ages. It was during this transition of covenants, that Jesus spoke, while the old covenant was still in effect, but soon to end at his death. The Jews that were born of the spirit (word of Christ) believing Jesus while the old covenant age was in effect a short period longer, was sufficient for their salvation, only as long the old covenant remained in effect. If they believe on (trusting) Jesus, further revelations were going to be revealed what to be done, to enter the new covenant.

Luke 24:45 Then opened he their mind, that they might understand the scriptures; 46 and he said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day; 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

remission = (Strong's concordance 859) freedom, pardon, deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission.

Jesus after his ressurection appears to his Apostles and commands them:

Matthew 28:19, Jesus said, "Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost". 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Mar 16:14 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned
